The Masterpiece Fighter Bomber Set
This is a 1/48 plastic assembly model kit of the American Air Corps fighter-bomber P-47D Thunderbolt, and a set of nine American soldier figures. The soldiers can be set in a variety of situations such as having talks whilst on a march or being cautious while taking a break. All the figures are rich in detail such as the General in his standing position and the driver sitting in his vehicle. In addition drum cans, jerri cans, and bags, one small vehicle is added to the set. The style of the P-47D's cowlings, big body, and high powered engines all have been realistically reproduced. Comes with an abundant amount of parts including four kinds of propellers, three kinds of belly tanks, armament parts such as the 500 pound bomb and rocket launchers. One pilot figure and two kinds of decal are included. You will enjoy making and displaying this realistic diorama of the P-47D and the nine soldier figures. About the P-47D
The P-47D had a superior high speed performance and with its performance as a fighter, it was often used for long distance guard duty of bombers in German airspace. Furthermore, after the appearance of the P-51 Mustang, The P-47D Thunderbird utilizing a load capacity of 1 ton or more, shook the earth with its ground attacks. Whilst in production, The Thunderbird canopy design was changed to the wider bubbletop for a better field of vision as well as other improvements were implemented.
