The Russian T34-76 stunned the infamous German Panzer division. In retaliation, the Tiger and Panther tanks were developed. As a result, the improved T34-85 tank was designed with an improved 3-man turret design and more powerful 85mm gun. The new T34-85 featured a 500-hp, V12 liquid cooled diesel engine. The Russians produced 29,000 T-34-85 tanks from 1943 to June of 1945. The T-34 played an influential part in removing the Germans from Russian soil.
